Delessious: You made that without using a real turkey?

DEFINITION: v. tr., To leave out an important ingredient when you are sharing a favorite recipe so that no one else can make it taste as good as yours. n., A recipe that is missing one or more key ingredients.

You made that without using a real turkey?

Delessious: /diˈlesh É™s/ Millie made the best pies in the county. She had the blue ribbons to prove it. She never wrote down her recipes so when asked she would write them from memory. Somehow they never turned out the same. Hers were delicious, theirs delessious. Maybe the fact that she would “forget” some key ingredient, by accident of course, had something to do with it. Etymology: delicious (highly pleasant to the taste) + less (a smaller amount of; not as much) Created by: artr.

Poultrygeist: /pole – tree – guy – st/ Amanda was disappointed. It looked like she had created a poultrygeist this Thanksgiving. She couldn’t understand why her roast duck, BBQ chicken and most of all, her beloved deep fried Turkey did not look or taste the way that they should. She thought this would be a true poultry smorgasbord, extravaganza….especially since she had obtained all of Aunt Martha’s secret receipes. Etymology: The word “Poultry” starts off this word. We know that poultry is not usually foul but is really “fowl”. The word “Geist” is German and is difficult to translate but is often used to mean mind, spirit or ghost. Created by: rombus.

Wrongcoction: /rong kok shun/ No one could figure out why Marianne made the best chili in the family. When they tried to copy her old family recipe, it never tasted the same. One day her nephew Charlie, a criminalogical forensic chemist, decided to analyze the ingredients in a batch she had made. When he compared it to the recipe she had given him it was no wonder he kept making a wrongcoction. There was no evidence of beef, tomato, beans or known spices in the original recipe. To this day, her wrongcoction remains an unsolved mystery to Charlie. Angstony: /angst uh nee/ Poor Tom Turkey. First of all, they were not out to get him a raw deal. They were out to “get him!” It was time to get a move on, before they could get a grip on him. Maybe if he could get across the creek, Tom Turkey might get ahead of them. With that in mind, he tried to make a fast get away. His pursuers decided to get down to it, and managed to get even with him. Quickly, hoping to get in on the act, one of his pursuers swung an axe. Tom did get a pain in the neck! Ordered to get if off his chest, feathers flew. Next he was forced to get the hang of it. But the ultimate pain of it all, came when poor Tom had to get cooking! Worst of all, he had no way to get back at them! Poor Tom, he suffered the angstony of it all! Etymology: Angst and agony that make one ache for revenge! Created by: silveryaspen.

Desperadough: /des-per-ah-doh/ Betty had 92 batches of cookie dough in the freezer. She was so proud of her contribution to the Church Christmas Bazaar this year. They would bake some to sell and also sell dough there. She always came through with the most cookies and dough and was well known for her generousity. But this year, it was ruined….someone had unplugged the freezer while the basement remodeling was being done. Was it one of the remodelers? Was it her husband? She had worked herself into a desperation she had never before known, crying and wretching in despair and anger at the unkown person who had done this. In the distance, she heard some music and, wait, she heard the familiar voice of her husband. She strained to hear him as she fought back her tears……”Desperadough, won’t you come to your senses”….. Etymology: This word is a blend of Desperate(of persons) dangerously reckless or violent as from urgency or despair; and the word Dough (Dough is a paste made out of any cereals (grains) or leguminous crops by mixing the flour with a small amount of water. This step is a precursor to making bread, pasta, noodles, pastry, cookies, and muffins.) Whew…

Gincommunicado: /jin – com – meoon – ick – cod – oh/ Sheila had issues again today. He had been on a strict diet for the past week, so that he would hopefully not be quite as squashed as he was on previous occasions. A Neoclassic. Check in more often!

Crimpinge: /krim-PIN-ge (crimpingement,crimpinged)/ RedundantRay was pleased and delighted with his new job as an undercover consumer satisfaction consultant for SkyHigh Airlines. In his short yet brief career he had suggested many small, tiny improvements and modifications which had saved the airline a lot of money and cash. The greatest and most important of these were his recommendations that by slowly and gradually reducing and decreasing the size and dimensions of the fold-down trays and shrinking the available leg room available to each passenger, SkyHigh could eventually increase the number of seats on each L-1011 and no one would notice.
On his latest undercover flight from Tierra Del Fuego, the small yet diminutive Korean tourist in front of him began to CRIMPINGE on his personal space, slowly ratcheting her seat into the reclining horizontal position which stifled and cut off the blood supply to Ray’s lower extremities and legs, inducing an accidental Heimlich Manoever that propelled the tiny Sardinian fish he was choking on the length of the cabin. RedundantRay’s CRIMPINGEMENT made it impossible to hail a flight attendant or stewardess. Imprisoned thus, Ray was only able to regret his stupid, foolish space-saving suggestions which had turned this tedious, arduous flight into a flying airborne version of The Black Hole Of Calcutta. Just before he blacked out into unconsciousness, Ray wondered if his frequent-flier miles would be awarded posthumously after he was dead and gone. Etymology: CRIMP+imPINGE=CRIMPINGE…..CRIMP: to cause to become wavy, bent, or pinched,to form into a desired shape, to pinch or press together (as in passengers) in order to seal;Dutch or Low German krimpen to shrivel; akin to Middle Dutch crampe hook, cramp…..IMPINGE: to strike or dash especially with a sharp collision or a slow squeezing action;Latin impingere, from in- + pangere to fasten, drive in. Etymology: SQUEEZYCHAIR: blend of squeezy: to be press forcibly together; compressed, tightly packed together & CHAIR: a seat, esp. for one person, usually having (four) legs for support and a rest for the back and often having rests for the arms.

CRAMBIVALENCE: blend of CRAM: to press something into something else; jam or cram beyond the normal comfortable capacity, as on a plane or train & AMBIVALENCE: similar conflicting feelings; mixed feelings of uncertainty or emotion, as between safety & unsafety. Created by: OZZIEBOB.
