Villagepeephole: Your hair is attached directly to your brain!

DEFINITION: n. A social network built on the intertwining connections between the people, ideas and things. v. To communicate through a social network.

Your hair is attached directly to your brain!

VERBOTICISMS: (Invented words created by the Verbotomy Writers)

Villagepeephole: /vill aj peep hole/ In our little town many years ago, no one had a telephone except for the drugstore at the bottom of the street. The pharmacist was next to the butcher’s shop. Long ago, some clever person decided to drill a peephole in the side wall between the two shops. The butcher had a packle of kids and the family lived above the shop. Whenever a call came in for someone up the street, the pharmacist would yell through the hole who the call was for and the butcher would dispatch one of the brood to go get the recipient. This social network system was called the villagepeephole and was used constantly, until the day that phones became more affordable to the town’s people. Eventually the shops were knocked down in the name of progress and to divert the youth of the town, a recreation centre was built and you guessed it, the villagepeephole gave birth to the Y.M.C.A.!”Young man, there’s a place you go…” Etymology: Village (little town) & Peephole (hole cut in something to peek through;spyhole) & Wordplay on Village People Created by: Nosila.

Rationalbatross: All I had was a wooden brain…

DEFINITION: n. A person who, using an example from their own life, steers people away from a line of speculation by reducing it to an absurdity. v. To dismantle a logical argument with piles of passionate incoherence.

All I had was a wooden brain...

VERBOTICISMS: (Invented words created by the Verbotomy Writers)

Rationalbatross: /ra shun al bit ross/ When Penelope asked her father, Gordie, for a computer (or anything that cost money), he had his usual rationalbatross excuse ready. On this occasion it was about the fact that when he was young, computers were a science fiction story, not reality. So he had to develop his super brainpower to get through all eight of his years of school. Of course, he then went into his old “I walked through five feet of snow for eight miles without boots or a winter coat, carrying a raw potato for my lunch at school, after I had milked the cows, fed the pigs and chickens and brought in a bucket of snow to melt for water” schtick. Etymology: Rational (logical) & Albatross (figurative) something that hinders or handicaps) Created by: Nosila.

Duhbate: /duuh – bate/ When I told my brother that I was going to take a little time to travel across the Midwest, he launched into a duhbate about how unsafe it was and roving bands of renegade rodeo stars that wander the streets. He told me he had spent some time there during his own rodeo days and he had first hand experience; i know better- that he’s never left the New York Metro area. Etymology: duh + debate Created by: libertybelle.

Love it…sounds like your brother is a rodeo clown!

Logihooey: /läjihoōē/ Whenever Cindy approaches her father with a proposal to buy something he bombards her with logihooey, passionate drivel about how he had to work for everything he has ever owned. To hear him, you would think that, as a baby, he had to work to buy his own diapers. Etymology: logic (reasoning conducted or assessed according to strict principles of validity) + hooey (nonsense) Created by: artr.

Manicdotal: /man-ik-doe-tul/ In order to get the upperhand in this argument he was going to need to provide some pretty persuasive manicdotal evidence Etymology: manic, anecdote Created by: rikboyee.
