Arriving at the school's gaily decorated gymnasium, he was astounded to see that many had aged, the years had added pounds on everyone and bald or greying heads on paunchy men prevailed. One of these men was Ned and Dick was disturbed to learn that Ruth had left Ned after two years and three kids to run off and be a showgirl in Las Vegas. Yes, that reunion for Dick had been a Ruth-less one!
