DEFINITION: v. intr. To spend years and years wishing you could be young again, only to discover that it’s actually happening, but not exactly as you imagined.

Unkindrewind: /un kynd ree wynd/ James had a daydream his whole life that he would never get old. As each decade past though, people he thought of as old in his younger days were now his peers or younger. Instead of saying “Wow, she’s at least 50 and ancient.” He would now say, “Hey, she’s only 50/60/70/80 or 90 and looks great!” He knew he was getting old when he started going to more funerals than weddings and he read the obits every day in the paper to make sure he was not listed there. Although his mind was still young and foolish, his body started to betray him. Going to his doctor every week was now a social activity, one that he would use in conversations with, well, anybody (“You should see the size of my prostrate!) This once lively and exhuberant man was now experiencing the unkindrewind syndrome. Yep, his fountain of youth was drying up…he had taken a stroll through the Disenchanted Forest never to return…he wouldn’t buy green bananas, in case they couldn’t ripen in time! His latter years would be spent regressing mentally and physically until, with no family or friends around, he’d be left to the mercy of a temporary foreign worker nurses’ aide who did not speak English. A nice enough lady who would cheerfully spoonfeed him with a clean bib at each meal, wipe his nose (and other parts), teach him to try and speak again and change his diapers. He thought she was his Mom… Etymology: Unkind(lacking kindness;lacking or showing kindness or compassion or mercy

Nappydays: /Nap-pee-dayz/ Bob’s wish to be young again had finally come true. Having been diagnosed with Alzheimers disease he could no longer fend for himself and had reverted back to having a mental age of three. He was certainly back in his nappydays! Etymology: Nappy(a piece of absorbant material wrapped around babies to absorb bodily functions)ORIGIN abb.Napkin + Days = Nappydays. See also Happydays. Retropetrifry: /ret-ro-PET-rih-fry/ Elmo J. Fox didn’t mind getting old- he just didn’t want to RETROPETRIFRY like those guys sitting on resin chairs outside the Veteran’s Tapdance Administration. Elmo had too many good memories, and when he was driving alone he thought of many women he had loved, or believed he had. Turns out they hadn’t loved him, though, and right now he just wished someone were sitting in the passenger seat – someone who would get his jokes – not his fuzzy slippers.
The clear beauty of this vibrant day could only be better shared with someone….mabye that redhead at the clinic would like to watch an old movie some evening…..NAAAH !
