VERBOTICISMS: (Invented words created by the Verbotomy Writers)

Pettedplant: /pet ed PLANT/ Her dog Mimado usually lay around the house like a pettedplant, and today was no exception. “Oh, smoochiepoochie!” she exclaimed fondly as her dog pet-ter-pattered over and settled down in her lap for one of his 3-hour naps. The fact that Mimado was now almost 90 pounds was beginning to weigh on her, both literally and figuratively. But she had created this monster, and now she was being hoisted by her own pet-ard. great word

Mopetron: /moh-pet-tron/ Hammy the cat’s mopetronic behaviour was starting to creep her out, the constant eye contact and weird little grunts he made by his empty food dish – he would lay there all day until she fed him again. If Hammy could talk he would say, “You must tell me how beautiful I am daily, and you must pet me when I want you to, not only that YOU are MY slave, you do what I want when I want.” Etymology: moron (a stupid dimwit) + pet (domesticated tamed animal companion) Created by: remistram.

Scrumpy: // Look at that scrumpy feline! Etymology: Created by: clevercommentary.

Adorablob: /ədôrəbläb/ Wes thinks he owns a cat. He is wrong. That thing that eats cat food, purrs when scratched is not a cat at all. Cats are barely domesticated creatures that hunt mice and other small critters. Cats are agile and light of foot. Wes’ pet is none of these. What he has is an adorablob, a cute, treat eating, litter soiling lump of fur with the about as much ambition of a sofa cushion. Last week Wes had to trap and remove a mouse that was starting to establish a nest on Fatty McButterpants’ belly. Etymology: adorable (inspiring great affection; delightful; charming) + blob (an indeterminate mass or shape) Created by: artr.

Snipercritical: /SNY per CRIT ih cul/ My aunt Prissy is usually looking for mistakes or flaws, real or imagined, so she can complain about how she could have done something so much better, if someone had only asked her. According to her, her adult children don’t talk to her because “they are ungrateful and don’t appreciate all the sacrifices I’ve made for them.” More likely, her husbands left and most of the people in the family avoid her because she is so snipercitical, always waiting to take potshots from the sidelines.
