But what on earth was that ‘clankety, clank’ noise that sounded like it was coming from the attic? It didn’t fit in with the familiar nighttime rhythm, and Michelle winced every time she heard it. I liked this one. The only problem – if you don’t immdiately catch the underlying connection to ‘sound-asleep’ it seems like an overly-simple response to the definition, (i.e. it may seem, at first, like you picked 2 words from the definition and stuck them together). Gets my vote though, for the clever double-meaning wordplay.

Fauxcuss: /fo kuss/ Dr.Seemore Glasses was an optometrist and normally a man of vision. Born a Presbyopic, he’d rather ride the cataracts than attend Church or Temple. He was short-sighted in one aspect: he was afraid to make a spectacle of himself in front of his clients. Although it sounded cornea, he hated to swear in front of them. He would tell them he needed to fauxcuss, when they did or said something stupid. One fellow kept making an astigmatism of himself, so Dr. Seemore stopped seeing him, before their macular degenerated anymore. Through his contacts, the doctor also teaches at the university and lens his experience to the newbies. Unfortunately, the boring nature of eye topics often made his pupils dilate. One day he fauxcussed on his lovely assistant, Iris,who he claimed was untidy, blind to messes and kept their office like a sty. She in turn accused Dr. Seemore of ogling her. Although it later turned out that she was bipolarized and also binocular, she pressed charges. As the police led away the good Dr.Seemore, he was heard to yell, “I’ve been framed!” Etymology: Faux (not genuine or real; being an imitation of the genuine article) & Cuss (profane or obscene expression usually of surprise or anger;utter obscenities or profanities)

He was gymbarrassed and felt like a gymposter in front of all the bodybuilders who had to help carry him out to his car. He was a total gymbecile for thinking he could still bench press his body weight like he used to. It’s gympossible not to love it! There are so many great words today, too bad we can only pick 2! Makes one feel gympotent!

Intendonitis: /in-ten-dun-eye-tis/ Bill was right back where he started: on the couch next to a half-eaten box of meat-lover’s pizza. But this time, he was unable to lift his arm to point the remote on account of his intendonitis. You see, earlier in the day he saw an infomercial about how to lose all that flab and he decided he was motivated enough to waltz into the gym and start off where he left the last time in college 15 years and 70lbs ago. He thought he begin with benching 240, the weight he used to do, but could only muster 3 reps of 80lbs. He didn’t even need to use a pin to set the weights on the equipment circuit and didn’t last 5 minutes on the treadmill.
