Do I spit out the half-soggy, apple juice soaked tidbit or forge on with the chewing. And why do I think eating her scraps is somehow less wasteful than throwing it away? In the midst of my hindsplight, I stepped on a rogue Cheerio, and, with that telltale crunch beneath my heel, I immediately started chastising myself for not picking it up earlier.
