Mendageous
Created by: Nosila
Pronunciation: mend ayj us
Sentence: Grandma Gilda had always been a mendageous type of person. Her true age was never known...she'd been twentynining it for as long as we could recall. Although offered senior's discounts at shops, she was indignant that people would think she was really that old. She took care of herself and acted young, but let's be honest, Mother Nature and Father Time exact their toll on us all. And it did not help that she told us stories of the War and the Great Depression. When Gilda turned 75, we had a big party for her in a local licensed restaurant. Her best gift by far was having the waiter card her...unbeknownst to her that we'd paid him twenty bucks to make a fuss of requiring proof of age. She was thrilled!
Etymology: Mendacious (tells fibs; given to lying;intentionally untrue) & Age (how long something has existed;begin to seem older; get older)

Mendageous
Created by: Nosila
Pronunciation: men day jus
Sentence: When Edna joined up with the Under 60's Dance Club, a few people (ok, the lights were poor in there) suspected she was well past her sell-by date. But claiming to be 49 when you are really 89 is just plain mendageous activity. After her jitterbug/merengue/polka triathelon, she had chest pains and was short of breath. When the hunky firemen showed up, they got her going again in time to catch up on the Schotticshe and Virginia Reel. How did they do it? They used the De-FIB-rillator...guaranteed to ensure they tell the truth before they meet their makers in that great Dance Hall in the Sky!
Etymology: Mendacious (intentionally untrue;given to lying) & Age (begin to seem older; get older)

I like it.

Is it just coincidental or is Edna Sky's name an anagram for ask deny
Hey Texmom, Thanks for the positive feeback! ~ James
Dear Jabberwocky, You certainly have a sharp eye for letters! It is accidental anagram. I created the name so she would sound old (edna/enda) and young (sky/kys) at the same time --> enda kys = last kiss. ~ James
LOVELY word, misagery...intuitive,impeccable etymology, and unlike my word, mercifully brief.
