DEFINITION: n. A staff meeting where the boss berates the entire team because the boss is too spineless to directly confront the one person who is actually causing all the problems.
DEFINITION: To stand, or sit, behind a person using a computer and provide commentary, suggestions, and if necessary intervention, whether wanted or not.
DEFINITION: v. intr. To quietly and politely ignore a cashier's mistake when they scan in a barcode on item you are purchasing and the price is much lower than it should be.
DEFINITION: To submit a resume, letter of intent, or proposal for an opportunity that's just perfect for you, and then to get absolutely no response. Nothing.
DEFINITION: n. A fear dental instruments, in particular the fear that your dentist will drop an instrument down your throat while chatting with the dental assistant.
DEFINITION: v. To generously allow others to precede you in hopes that they will identify, reduce, and perhaps be eliminated by, the potential hazards. n. A gesture of courtesy which is really the lead-in to a trap.
DEFINITION: n. An invented word which appears learned, sounds sophisticated, and is completely confusing. v.intr. To use invented words in order to confuse others, and/or create the illusion of erudition.
DEFINITION: v. To suddenly discover that your most troublesome personality defect, for which you have been taking medication and/or therapy, is actually your greatest asset. n. A perceived weakness which is actually a strength.
DEFINITION: n. A chosen mating partner who is not well-accepted by one's parents. v. To fight with one's parents over the selection of a suitable mate.
DEFINITION: v.tr. To join a line-up of people just because the line is there, even though you have no idea what line is for.
